St-Leonards

Studio collective delivered a spatial plan for the healthcare and residential development in St Leonards Hospital.

Firstly the intention was to integrate the fragmented urban site to its local context. Secondly to develop a adaptable spatial plan. Finally to create a pedestrian friendly public environment.

The new central North – South space will become the main point of entry for the new health care facilities and residential units. The proposed urban block configuration offers a diverse range of building typologies at multiple scales, including an interchangeable programme.

The spatial strategy moves away from a conventional planning approach towards a more flexible spatial development strategy.
